These terms govern all consulting services provided by Kashtek ("we", "us", "our") to you ("the client"). By engaging our services, you agree to these terms.
Services
Kashtek provides technology consulting services including website design and development, IT infrastructure setup and support, workflow automation, data analytics, and project management consulting. The specific scope of each engagement is agreed upon in writing (by email, proposal, or contract) before work begins.
Proposals and Agreements
Before starting any work, we will provide a written proposal or statement of work outlining the scope, deliverables, timeline, and pricing. Work does not begin until the client approves the proposal in writing and, where applicable, the initial deposit has been received.
Pricing and Payment
Services are billed on either a project basis (fixed fee) or an hourly basis, as agreed in the proposal. Our standard terms are:
- Project-based work: 50% deposit due before work begins, remaining 50% due upon completion.
- Hourly work: Invoiced monthly, due within 15 days of the invoice date.
- Retainer agreements: Billed on the 1st of each month, due within 15 days.
All prices are quoted in the currency specified in the proposal (typically CAD or USD). Late payments may be subject to a late fee of 2% per month on the outstanding balance.
Accepted Payment Methods
We currently accept payment through Wise (bank transfer and electronic funds transfer) and Interac e-Transfer. We are in the process of adding credit card payments (Visa, Mastercard) and will update this page when they become available. We do not store payment details — all transactions are processed securely through our payment providers.
Intellectual Property
Upon full payment, the client owns all deliverables produced specifically for their project (websites, documents, designs, etc.), unless otherwise agreed in writing. Kashtek retains the right to use general knowledge, techniques, and non-confidential elements of the work for other projects and as portfolio examples.
Confidentiality
We treat all client information as confidential. We will not share your business information, data, or project details with third parties without your permission, except where required by law.
Client Responsibilities
To deliver our services effectively, we need the client to:
- Provide timely access to necessary information, accounts, and materials
- Respond to questions and review deliverables within a reasonable timeframe
- Designate a primary point of contact for the project
Delays caused by late client responses may affect project timelines and are not the responsibility of Kashtek.

Limitation of Liability
Kashtek's total liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the amount paid by the client for the specific engagement in question. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits or data.
Termination
Either party may terminate an engagement with 30 days' written notice. For retainer agreements, the notice period begins from the date of written notice. For project-based work, the client is responsible for payment for all work completed up to the date of termination.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of British Columbia.

Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Existing engagements will continue under the terms agreed at the time of the proposal.
